Ah, there is something I had forgotten. You have to meet somebody before you do this job. An elf called Bernoa. He is an old friend of mine and the leader of the elves in this district. As you are a stranger to the elves you should meet Bernoa first so that they lose their aggressiveness towards you.

I have heard that the elves are very proud and aggressive creatures. I don't know whether that is a good idea.

Jackpot:

Bernoa is somebody who is very open and likes to get together with other elders. Compared with ordinary elves he does have some peculiarities. Don't worry unnecessarily and meet with him. We can't leave the dying forest like this.

Recently someone visited Jackpot, who went to the Dying Forest alone and returned safe and sound. If I could just talk to him, I'm sure he could help us.
