4Story 4.0
Dear players,
We’re excited to be able to give you an update on our release plans for 4Story. Our translation staff is currently working hard to adopt the new features. Because of this we can release the new features included in game versions 4.0 and 4.1 to your communities at the same time! This includes all new quests as well as the brand new pet system. Below you will find the patch notes for 4.0 and we will add more information about the 4.1 features in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!
4.0 patch notes
General
- The number of monsters has been increased.
- The defence and health of most monsters has been reduced.
- Movement speed of characters has been increased by 10%.
- The standard speed of mounts has been increased from 135% to 150%.
Soul Lottery
Collect soul energy from all monsters in Iberia and try your luck in the Soul Lottery.
- You can receive a certain amount of Soul Power from defeated monsters.
- As soon as the soul ball is 100% filled with Soul Power, you can click on it to open the lottery window. If you roll one of your lucky numbers, you will receive a certain amount of silver.
- Upon logout, your collected soul energy will be reset to 0%.
Elite Monsters
There is now the chance that rare Grieving Spirits will appear amongst the normal monsters.
They can be carrying the Cleansing Formula, Alchemist's Formula and the Scroll of Reflection.
Battle Arena
Find a new challenge in the Battle Arena. Enter as a group of three or five against monsters or other players and attain victory in all the levels.
- The arena administrators are available for registration in the capitals of Valorian and Derion as well as on Harmony Plain.
- The group leader starts the registration and all members of the group will then be teleported to the arena in Tebekut.
- The costs for participation are 50 silver for 3 vs. 3 and 100 silver for 5 vs. 5 respectively.
- If there are no opposing players in the waiting list, a battle against monsters will begin.
- Win 2 of 3 battles to complete a level. After seven levels, you will receive a reward for your victory.
- In a battle against players, upon entering the arena all skill cooldowns and strengthening magic will be reset.
Title System
Receive special titles by completing individual challenges.
- You can unlock titles by fulfilling certain requirements.
- Select your current title in the title interface. The 'L' key is the standard hot-key for this window.
Daily Quests
Defeat the daily quests and gather Gold Coins for new rewards.
- The quests can be repeated daily and will be reset at midnight.
- The blackboard for daily quests can be found in the capitals of both the Valorian and Derion kingdoms.
- The merchants in Markut and Keter exchange your Gold Coins for various rewards.
Golden Bell
Fulfil certain challenges and sound the golden bell for your kingdom.
- When the golden bell is sounded, all logged in players belonging to the respective kingdom receive a reward in the post.
Following challenges are available:
- Win in a tournament
- Win an honorary title
- Win in the Moon Crystal Game
Level Up Rewards
Receive helpful items out of the new Level Up Reward boxes, that you can open every five level ups from level 5 up until level 65.
- There are special items as well as the reward box for the next level in the box.
- Careful: if you delete a reward box, you will be unable to receive more as they will always be delivered in the previous box.
Changes to Quests
- The quest interface has been reworked. You now have an overview of all available and accepted quests.
- The quest rewards have been adjusted, experience points and gold are now up to four times as high as they were before.
- The repeatable seal quests have been completely reworked. Instead of individual monsters, now all monsters in a specified location count for successful quest completion.
- There is also a small chance that the quest provider's seal can also now be looted in the specific region.
- The quest sequence 'Tokamin' has been summarised into one individual quest.
- Repeatable quests in the contested regions can be accepted by all players, independent of which kingdom they belong to.
- The quests in the contested region of Tyconteroga can now be accepted by all players, independent of which kingdom they belong to.
New quests for the mission maps have been added:
- You can find documents on monsters in the mission maps, use them to start quests.
- There are two variations:
- Defeat as many monsters as possible within a certain amount of time
- Defeat a set number of monsters before a time limit ends
- You can hand in these quests in the quest window.
Changes to Instances
- The following instances have been removed from the game: 'Second Battle', 'Arahur Rampart' and 'Battle of Narwashi'.
- The old scrolls can still be produced.
- The production quests at the corresponding NPCs will however only be visible if the materials required for production are stored in your character's inventory.
- Marduk's Nest: Monster attack strength has been reduced.
- Hell Flame Labyrinth: at the entrance to the instance there is now a quick-travel portal.
Following instances have received a new design:
- Valorian: Nezak and Bina
- Derion: Hod and Gebra
Skills
Evocator
- Evocate monsters:
Cooldown and magic time have been reduced. Instead of a permanent companion, three monsters will be summoned who are not controllable and who attack the target for 5 seconds.
Magic time: 3 sec. >> 0.2 sec.
Cooldown: 24 sec. >> 12 sec. - Cooldown and magic time of the following skills have been reduced:
Evocate Guard Eye
Dark Ritual
Evocate Chaos Eye
Evocate God Spirit
General:
- The functionality of the below listed abilities and items have been expanded: their effects can now be deactivated with a renewed use of the ability/item. However this is only possible once the effect has been active for 3 seconds.
- Following abilities are affected: Night Walker: Invisibility, Priest: Pendatron's Favour, Dignified Suffering
- Following items are affected: Valorian Clothing, Derion Clothing
- The effects will not be deactivated if the character finds themselves in an immobilised position (frozen, fear, anaesthesia).
- The automatic standard attack will now be interrupted if an ability with a surface effect is used. As soon as the target area has been selected, the standard attack will be automatically continued.
Items
- The merchant that sold mounts for achievement points has left Iberia.
- Special Weapon Rental: the prices of the time-limited items have been reduced.
- The production materials for the Holy Stones have been adjusted. Now double the amount of unsealed scrolls are required.
- The Level Up Rewards that you receive in the post have been reworked.
- New characters that have yet to choose a kingdom can no longer use teleport scrolls.
- The production materials required for the product specialist items have been reduced by a third.
- Mentor system: the rewards have been adjusted.
The mentor now receives more boxes during the course of their pupil's development.
The timing is dependent on both the levelling progress of the pupil and the mentor's experience point contribution. - You can now compare your equipment in your inventory with those that you are wearing. Move the mouse cursor over the item in your bag, then both descriptions will be shown.
- Item stacks can no longer be split as long as a trading window with a player or NPC is active.
Game entry
The skill system has been revamped.
- Each skill is now available in a 'level zero' variety that you can already use from level 1.
- Distribute your skill points to improve the skills.
The tutorial has been reworked.
- Now only new characters without a kingdom may play the tutorial.
- The quest sequence has been adjusted.
The veteran system has been added.
- If you have reached level 34 with a character, when creating a new character you can select whether it should be level 9 or 34.
- If you have reached level 61 with a character, when creating a new character you can select whether it should be level 9, 34 or 61.
Interface
- The automatic pathfinder now displays which target you are moving towards on the screen.
- The pathfinder has been improved and now always selects the shortest route. In doing so, all portals en route to the target are included in the calculation.
- The maximum range of vision has been increased slightly.
Resolved bugs
- It is no longer possible that the button which ends the tutorial will remain in the screen
after you have left the tutorial via the teleporter. - The Valorian quest 'Before the food gets cold... ' can now be completed again.
- In the daily quest 'Feel the Nostalgia: Level 1' the progress made in the small crystal game is now displayed correctly.
4.1 Patch Notes
Interface changes
- The mini map has moved to the bottom centre of the screen, along with health and mana bars.
- Soul orb energy is now displayed as a bar in the bottom left part of the screen, the experience bar can be found on the lower right.
- Chat windows are now configurable to one's needs. It's possible to create and delete windows and chat channels can be added to or removed from some tabs.
- Menu options have moved to the upper right corner and have larger icons now.
- The action bars have been split and repositioned to the left and right hand side of the mini map.
Dragon Invasion system
- New PVE and PVP event, area: Devastated Field.
- Invasion starts once per day on all channels if the existing invasion has been cleared completely.
- Fight 3 waves of monsters and 4 boss monsters.
- Rewards:
- o The corps / group with the most accumulative damage to monsters will be announced as the winners.
- o Players who leave Colossus Mountains before the event ends don't get a reward.
- o You will gain chests of space time with different rewards for your victory.
Level cap increase
- Maximum level is now 93.
Colossus Mountains Map
- Characters of level 90 and above can enter the new Colossus Mountains map using the teleporter in their capital city.
- New quests can be completed in Colossus Mountains.
Mission Map
- Mission Map 9 - Colossus Mountains - has been added.
- Accessible for levels 90 ~ 93.
- Mission Map 7 admission level was changed to lvl 70 ~ 80.
- Mission Map 8 admission level was changed to lvl 80 ~ 90.
PVP battles
- Aerial War monster levels have been raised from level 90 to level 93.
- Sacred War monster levels raised:
- Catapult - level 90 to 93
- Anonymous Mercenary Soldier - level 30 to 34
- Skilled Mercenary Soldier - level 65 to 68
- Expert Soldier - level 90 to 93
- A player in a stunned state cannot accept a summoning from a summoning scroll.
New Companion System
- The companion system will provide buffs and upgrade your stats.
- Normal companion runes will be acquired from non-humanoid monsters. There are other exceptions like boss monsters which will not yield runes.
- When you register your companion it will appear in the companion administration window (hotkey "comma"). The initial HP of a new companion is set to 3000. You can own up to 5.
- If your character is in battle or riding his mount your companion will appear as a flying ball.
- Your companion gains 60 experience points per minute if HP is between 2400 and 10000. Below 2400 HP the experience gain is 0, above 10000 HP it's 120 per minute.
- Your companion loses 1 HP per minute. If they drop below 2400, it is exhausted and can't be summoned anymore. In addition, the HP loss per minute increases to 5 points. You can revive your companion by using "Will To Live" items.
- The maximum HP your companion can have is 129600 (90 days).
- When your companion has collected enough experience, you must click the next level button to level it up. It won't get more experience points before you've done that. When your companion levels beyond level 10 it will get a random level between 11 and 13, which is the maximum.
- You can add stat points to your companion, 1 per level. The added attribute points will result in an equal increase on your character. The maximum points your companion can get for one attribute is 10.
- For each companion you own you get a bonus of 1 point to all of your attributes. One of your companions must be summoned to activate this effect.
- In addition to basic attribute bonuses, companions provide special bonuses which increase when they level up. The following bonuses are available:
- Your companion can equip different skill items:
- Reduction of honour point loss in pvp defeats: loss is reduced by 30%.
- Auto looting: loot from killed monsters will be collected automatically if the currently active pet is equipped with that item.
- Better drop chances for loot: chance increased by 20%.
- Instant resurrection with a 20 minute cooldown, in addition, that kill doesn't count as a pvp defeat.
- You can find several companion related items like HP recovery and XP gain on monsters or purchase them in the cash shop.
- Available companion items are:
- Will To Live: increases HP (several items with different amounts from 10 minutes to 15 days).
- Experience Blessing: increases experience points (several items with different amounts from 500 EXP to 10000 EXP).
- Companion bonus change: randomly changes basic bonuses.
- If you already own 5 companions and want to use another one, you have to delete an existing one. After a companion has been deleted, it cannot be restored.
New armour and weapons
- New performance lvl 40 armour and weapons available.
- You can craft these at your faction's crafting NPC.
- Derion : Sento - Headquarters of the battle magicians
- Valorian: Dek - Magnaktia Soldier's District
Mounts
- Your mount will no longer walk beside you when you're on foot.
- Your mount is only displayed if you ride it.
- You will now unmount automatically when you use a skill.
Quest changes
- You can now get soul orb power as a quest reward.
PVP tournament and ranking reward changes
- The weapons and cloaks you get as tournament and monthly ranking rewards will now have gemstones in them.
Version 4.0 changes
